Toxic relationships and narcissistic individuals wear you down slowly—through gaslighting, blame-shifting, guilt, and emotional volatility. You’re not weak; you’ve been conditioned to question your own reality.

Coaching gives you the clarity and tools to break those patterns and rebuild a grounded, confident sense of self.

BILT /bilt/ verb: To become strong, centered, and self-respecting 24 hours a day.

ABOUT DAVID LAING, PH.D.

Toxic Relationship & Narcissistic Abuse Coach
(No therapy or clinical services are provided in coaching sessions.)

For nearly two decades, I’ve helped thousands of individuals break free from toxic, manipulative, and narcissistic relationship patterns—whether in romantic relationships, family systems, or co-parenting arrangements.

My coaching approach blends psychology-informed education with practical, real-world tools so you can:

See toxic patterns clearly

Stop internalizing blame

Rebuild a strong sense of self

Navigate difficult people without losing your sanity

Make confident decisions about your future

My background in psychology includes a B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in the field, and years of experience working with high-conflict personalities and complex relational dynamics. I also bring a direct, grounded, action-oriented style — informed by my history as a martial arts instructor, where clarity, boundaries, and resilience are essential.

Coaching is not therapy, clinical treatment, or healthcare. It is future-focused, educational, and skills-based — designed to help you understand patterns and take control of your life.

Anxiety & Mood Disorder Treatment

I am client-centered and utilize cognitive behavioral therapy in dealing with depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, and obsessive compulsive disorders. Treatment is individualized to meet the client where they are at with evidenced based interventions.

Substance Use Track

As a therapist, my history in substance abuse treatment spans 15 years, which provides me not only with experience, but also connections in the treatment industry. Substance use disorders are family disorders and all members play a vital part in recovery. Oftentimes, family therapy or parent coaching offers a multi-dimensional approach to helping a loved one recover from substance abuse.
